They put the class back in radio..
A few months ago, we were contacted by a local radio station here in Metro Manila - they commissioned as to re-brand their station into a more dated one - 105.1 Crossover. Some of their previous logo was the man playing a piano and a pen stroked sax with a red-like note coming from it. They wanted a new look (and to stay away from that kind of approach) since they re-programmed the station a little bit - targeting new listeners and to make sure that those who are familiar with them already will not get lost. Some of the new tag-lines serves us our guide, like "The Classics. The Current. And what's in between", and "We put the class back in radio" - since they play favorites from the classics to the new and what's in between. Contemporary jazz, rhythm & blues to "sophisti-pop". Here is our take with our project with 105.1 Crossover

We wanted the idea of mixing the old vinyl and modern CD in the logo, in a way they intersect at the middle. The client (Mareco Broadcasting Network) has its own recording company that produced vinyls.

Sample print-ads that shows how the logo can be used (like Louis Armstrong and John Mayer, or John Legend crossovers with one of the legends.)

Aside from the main radio station, they also have an events group called Crossover Events which specializes in concerts for local and international artists. They also asked to re-design its current look to be cohesive with the new logo of the station.

The Crossover Events logo is more abstract, which can signifies a 2 spotlight beams (or a top view of a chair side-view). Its logo is also tied in with the main logo of the station.

Some of the collateral for the Crossover Events (ranging from posters, access pass, id's, shirts)
